Perchè il pallone da Basket?
“Quando ero ragazzo a scuola feci una scommessa con un compagno: dovevo segnare un canestro lanciando il pallone girato di spalle.
Tre tentativi, non uno di più.
Al primo lancio la palla rimbalzò via, al secondo sfiorò il ferro, ci girò intorno per poi uscire. Mi rimaneva l’ultimo.
Presi fiato, alzai il pallone sopra la testa e lo lasciai andare. In quell’istante il mio sguardo si fermò sul cielo azzurro sopra di me:
limpido, terso, infinito. Qualche attimo e il pallone entrò. Canestro. Vittoria.
Quel colore azzurro è rimasto nel mio cuore per sempre. Limpido blue, che spesso puoi vedere nei miei dipinti.
E’ il colore della libertà, del sogno che vola sempre più in alto.”

Why a basketball?
"When I was a boy at school, I made a bet with a classmate: I had to score a basket by throwing the ball with my back turned.
Three attempts, no more.
On the first throw, the ball bounced away; on the second, it grazed the rim, circled around it and then went out. I had one last attempt.
I took a breath, raised the ball above my head and let it go. At that moment, my gaze fell on the blue sky above me:
clear, bright, infinite. A few moments later, the ball went in. Basket. Victory.
That blue colour has remained in my heart forever. Clear blue, which you can often see in my paintings.
It is the colour of freedom, of dreams that fly higher and higher."
