Il tatuaggio è un arte antica e contemporanea, un argomento complesso e stratificato, interpretato e diffuso in tutto il mondo
che racconta, sul corpo, storie di vita e nasconde innumerevoli significati. Molto spesso è stato messo in relazione
con la degenerazione morale innata del delinquente come in Giappone ma si sono anche visti tatuaggi a carattere religioso
che i cristiani, per paura di una morte violenta, si tatuavano con simboli che permettevano il riconoscimento della loro fede
e di conseguenza la possibilità di essere sepolti in terra consacrata. Si tatuavano i soldati romani, i Traci, gli schiavi
o le tribù indigene. Tatuaggi e marinai sono un binomio indissolubile, influenzati dalle superstizioni marinaresche
con disegni che ritraevano simboli portafortuna, primo fra tutti, l’ancora.

Tattooing is an ancient and contemporary art, a complex and layered topic, interpreted and spread throughout the world
which tells stories of life on the body and hides countless meanings. Very often it has been related with the inherent
moral degeneration of the delinquent as in Japan but religious tattoos have also been seen that Christians,
for fear of a violent death, tattooed themselves with symbols that allowed the recognition of their faith and consequently
the possibility of being buried in consecrated ground. Roman soldiers, Thracians and slaves were tattooed or the indigenous tribes.
Tattoos and sailors are an indissoluble couple, influenced by maritime superstitions with drawings depicting
lucky symbols, first of all, the anchor.

In Tailandia i tatuaggi avrebbero poteri magici, tra le gang americane i tattoo indicano il grado di criminalità di una persona.
I polinesiani con i denti di squalo a rappresentare la protezione, la forza e la fiducia. In Cina quest’arte ha centinaia di anni,
in Irlanda i Celti e i Vichinghi si ispiravano alla natura, in Russia la malavita ne aveva fatto un codice segreto come le stelle
per definire il rango o la rosa sul petto che significa aver fatto piu’ di 18 anni in carcere.
Nella preistoria si tatuava la parte del corpo malata per poterla curare.
Popoli come i Maori e gli Inuit hanno costruito un intera cultura del tatuaggio e l’hanno tramandata per generazioni.
Il tatuaggio è tipico dell’età adulta, dell’essere umano cresciuto, che ha vissuto.
Un corpo dipinto descrive e racconta una vita di esperienze e fatti.
Il centro del progetto TATTOOLS è un bambino interamente coperto di disegni e scritte.
La memoria di una vita non ancora esplorata dipinta su un giovane corpo è l’immagine di un destino non ancora compiuto.
Una pre-visione, un assurdo tentativo di svelare il non conosciuto, una proiezione arrogante e simbolica di ciò che ancora
non è accaduto. Il bambino adulto non esiste, esiste solo il bambino interiore, che nascosto tra le pieghe dell’anima,
spinge per tornare a giocare, a ridere e scherzare in quella meravigliosa dimensione che chiamiamo innocenza.

in Ireland the Celts and the Vikings were inspired by nature, in Russia the underworld had made it a secret code like the stars
to define the rank or the rose on the chest which means having done more than 18 years in prison.
In prehistoric times, the diseased part of the body was tattooed to cure it.

A pre-vision, an absurd attempt to unveil the unknown, an arrogant and symbolic projection of what has not happened yet.
The adult child does not exist, there is only the inner child, who hidden among the folds of the soul, pushes to return to play,
to laugh and joke in that wonderful dimension that we call innocence.
